Life is good!

Lainey's Birthday Party

Another busy and fun weekend. On Saturday we had the CNUSD Track Meet. Kelly, Jeremy, Dino, and I were this year's track coaches. We got there about 7 in the morning and left around 2 that afternoon, and boy was it HOT! Melissa, Evie, Jeff, Elizabeth, Bonnie, and Rebecca all showed up to show their support. It's always a good time to hang out outside of school. Even though we didn't place, we still had a good time.

Finally!!!
That evening we finally hung out with Jenna, Nate, and Gavin. We have been talking about getting together for weeks now, but it seems like something always comes up. I can’t believe how big Gavin is getting. He is definitely one of the cutest babies I have ever seen. I loved watching him push his shopping cart and ride his truck. It’s funny watching him chase Zoey, he gets so excited to see her. Poor dog, she’s probably so over Gavin.

Once Gavin fell asleep, we sat outside (including Tommy, Ray, Matt, and Ryan) and enjoyed the night playing cards and barbequing. The boys cooked “chicken with a beer up its butt” as they refer to it. It’s basically a beer can with 3/4 of beer, mixed with spices, and fresh squeezed lemon juice. You place it inside the chicken and let it cook. It turned out great! As the night got cooler, the boys set up the fire pit and we had a nice little fire while we ate and continued to play cards. At one point Adam and Nate thought it would be a good idea to burn the dead pine tree that was on the side of the house… that didn’t last very long, but I guess boys will be boys. :)

There's the tree.

Sunday was Lainey’s birthday party. I can’t believe she’s three years old! She’s become such a bright and funny girl. Tracy and Justin planned a great party. All the kids were in their bathing suits and spent most of the time in either the little pools or the playhouse that Justin built. You should see this playhouse… it is so cool!

It was a great weekend! I woke up in the middle of the night and just laid there thinking about how blessed and fortunate I am. I think I have reached a point in my life, where I’ve realized "it is what it is." Everything seems to be pretty much perfect. We may not have our own house, but that doesn’t bother me anymore. I know we will when the time is right. Jocelyn might drive me crazy at times, but really what can I do about it? I have definitely learned what unconditional love is. I have wonderful parents who amaze me with their strength and dedication, amazing friends who I may not see often, but still can rely on when it matters most. A rewarding and fun job with a caring staff, and of course, a loving husband who never fails to crack me up. For he is the one who has taught me to accept what I cannot change, and embrace the "here and now", live for the moment, and focus on what is possible. Life is good!

Mother's Day Weekend!

Wow! What an amazing weekend... busy, busy, busy:)

Friday
Friday is sushi night for Adam and me. It’s a little tradition we’ve started since they have great happy hour prices. We headed down to Zip Fusion and most of the time we’ll have friends join us, but not this time… It was date night. Then, we usually catch a flick, but Adam surprised me with Angel tickets! How cute is he!! Rachel had extra tickets and she gave them to Adam… Thanks Rachel! The Angels won, and it was the kick-off to a fun weekend.
Saturday
5:30 AM- Alarm goes off, we jumped out of bed, no snooze this time, and we headed out the door with our signs. As we are taping up signs, people are stopping and asking us where the garage sale is located… let me remind you- this is my first garage sale ever! I’m thinking to myself, “Why are these people looking for garage sales so early in the morning?” What’s funny about this situation, Adam is giving them directions to our house, yet our garage sale isn’t even set-up.
8:30AM -To be honest, we really didn’t have much to sale other than clothes, shoes, and a few monitors and keyboards. No one is showing up anymore, actually people are showing up, but they’re not getting out of their cars, they’re just driving by reallllllllly slow. We ended up selling a computer my dad repaired for $40 which was pretty cool, but other than that business was not looking good. That’s when I looked at Adam and said, “Should we wrap it up?” we laughed at our situation and we started cleaning up. Final profit = 100buckaroos, and 40 of that belonged to my dad. So we made $60 bucks. Wait a minute… subtract the $12 for the posters and markers. Grand total = $48. Not the best garage sale, but we had good time.

Later that afternoon, I went to Kelly’s baby shower. I can't believe she is going to be a mommy! And an awesome mom that is. She was definitely glowing and looked stunning in her cute, white dress. Kelly's family and friends did a beautiful job decorating and planning her shower. Here are a few pictures.

That evening Align Leftmy family and I went to my cousin’s graduation party. He graduated from LMU with a bachelors of science in civil engineering. I’m so proud! We had a good time with my parents, along with Walter and Maria. You should see my mama dance! She’s such a fun and outgoing person.
My parents looked amazing that night, like always!

Sunday
Happy Mother’s Day!
The day started off with a little bit of church and then the Angel game. Right before the game, Brad planned a breakfast for Aunt Barb, but unfortunately we missed the pancakes and eggs. It was such a fun and exciting game. Good times!
